to York Acorn with a 7pm kick off.
On Saturday - 7th June
- the Under 10s and Under 12s do not have a game and the Girls
are away at Batley Girls with a 10.30am kick off.
On
Sunday - 8th June - the Under 14s and Under 18s do not have a
game; the Under 9s are away at Sherburn, kick off 11.30am; the
Under 8s are also away at Hunslet; the Under 7s are at home
against Seacroft Sharks with a 10.30am kickk off and the Under
6s are also at home against Swillington, kicking off at 10am.

BUSY WEEKEND FOR RANGERS |

After the Bank Holiday break it's back
to business for all our teams this coming weekend. On Saturday -
31st May - the Open Age team are away at King Cross Park
(Hopwood Lane, Halifax, HX1 4HA) with a 2.30pm kick off; the
Under 12s are away at Crigglestone All Blacks, kick off 10.30am;
the Under 11s are away at Siddal and the Under 10s travel to
Heworth.
On Sunday - 1st June - the Under 18s will be at
home against East Hull, kick off 11.30am; the Under 14s are at
home against Siddal, 10am kick off; the Under 9s will be at home
against Birkenshaw with an 11am kick off at the St Peters School
field; the Under 8s travel to Drighlington; the Under 7s are
also away at Wetherby, 11am kick off; the Under 6s will be at
home to Sharlston on the St Peter School field with a 10am kick
off and the Masters team will be playing at home against the
Silverbacks RL Legends at 2pm.
On Monday 2nd June the
Stanley Rangers Girls will be away at Guiseley.

FOUR DAYS TO GO! |

Only
four days to go before Stanley Rangers Masters take on the
Silverbacks rugby league legends team in a charity match on
Sunday 1st June at Ranger Park, kick off 2pm. The match will
be raising funds for Wakefield Hospice. Thank you to all those
that have sponsored our players so far for such a great cause.

The Silverbacks are ex-professional rugby league players who

It's the Yorkshire Mens League Cup Round 2 this weekend and sees
Stanley Rangers travel to Kippax Welfare (Longdyke Lane, Kippax,
LS25 7BP) on Saturday with a 2.30pm kick off.

OPEN AGE RESERVES IN ACTION |

The Open Age Reserves were in action at
the weekend with a friendly at Featherstone Lions, coming away
with a big 46-16 win. Meanwhile the Open Age 1st team played
away at Newsome Panthers, currently top of the Premier Division,
and in a close game lost out 12-18.

Friday evening - 2nd May - the Open Age Reserve teams will be
playing a friendly match at Featherstone Lions with a 7pm kick
off. The ground is at Millpond Stadium, Wakefield Road,
Featherstone WF7 5HL. Also on Friday evening the Under 11s
have a home game against Elland with a 7pm kick off.
On
Saturday - 3rd May - the Under 12s will be at home against
Upton, kicking off at 11.30am.
On Sunday - 4th May - the
Under 14s have an away game against Lock Lane; the Under 9s are
at home to Lock Lane with a 10am kick off; the Under 8s travel
to Oulton, 10.30am kick off and the Under 7s travel to Lock Lane
with a 10.30am kick off. |

RANGERS UNDER 7S START THEIR SEASON |

The Stanley Rangers Under 7s took to the field yesterday for
their first game of the 2025 season and in their smart new kit.
They had fun and were keen to play. This team is for Year 2 boys
and girls.

BACK IN ACTION AFTER THE EASTER BREAK |

It's
a busy weekend for Stanley Rangers after the Easter break.
Beginning on Friday - 25th April - the Girls team are at
home to Batley Girls with a 6.30pm kick off and the Under 14s
are at home to York Acorn with a 7.30pm kick off.
On
Saturday - 26th April - the Masters are at home to Birkenshaw
Masters kicking off at 1.30pm; the Under 12s are away at

with a 11.30am kick off; the Under 10s also have an away game at
the Hunslet Blues and the Open Age are away at Newsome Panthers
(Hall Bower Lane, Newsome, Huddersfield HG4 6RN) in round

9.30am kick off; the Under 8s are at home against Hunslet with a
10am kick off and the Under 7s are away at Ossett/Upton, kick

Three of our junior teams were in action at
the Community Festival at the DIY Kitchen Stadium before last
week's clash against Castleford Tigers. The Under 8s, Under 8s
'A' and the Under 9s were among more than 90 players on the
pitch and did the club proud!

GOOD WIN FOR THE OPEN AGE |

The Open Age had a good win over
Almondbury Spartans on Saturday 24-18, keeping them 4th in the
Premier Division. Man of the Match was Charlie Ledger, with
tries by Ben Martin, Ollie McCraw and a brace for Jordan O'Neil.
Cameron Halliwell kicked three successful conversions. |
CUP WINS FOR OUR JUNIOR AND YOUTH TEAMS |

Well done to our Under 18s and Under
14s who both won their cup games at the weekend. The Under 18s
had a closely-fought match against Illingworth and came away
22-20 winners in the YJYL Continuation Cup, Round 1. The Under
14s beat Keighley Albion 52-4 in their YJYL Challenge Cup Round
1 game.
The draw for the next rounds of the
Challenge and Continuation Cups games was made tonight (1st
April) and the Under 18s will be away at Knottingley on the 27th
April and the Under 14s will be at home to either York or Shaw
Cross on the 29th June. |

Under 10s are at home against Garforth Tigers ARLFC kicking off
at 12 noon.
Then on Sunday - 30th March - the Under 18s
are at home against Drighlington ARLFC U18s in Round 1 of the
YJYL Cup, 12.15 KO; the Under 14s are at home against Keighley
Albion in Round 1 of the YJYL Cup, 10.30 kick off; the Under 9s
travel to Birkenshaw Blue Dogs with a 9am kick off and the Under
8s are at home to Stanningley Rugby Club with a 10am kick off.

MINI RANGERS ARE BACK! |

Stanley Rangers Mini Rangers are for 3-5 year old boys and girls
and everyone is welcome. New sessions will begin in April and
will be every Wednesday evening from 5.30-6.15pm at the St
Peters School field. Coaches are fully qualifield and vetted and
are aimed at showing the basics and enjoyment of being in a team
sport in a fun and friendly way. Contact Jonathan Haran (07841

TOUGH GAME AGAINST HUNSLET

Our Under 8s and Under 9s were busy at
the half time festival at the Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity
game on the 15th February. And our Under 11s were at the
Featherstone Rovers festival on Sunday 17th February. All the
teams are looking forward to the start of their seasons.

Open
Age training will be at Stanley Sports & Social Club
tomorrow - Saturday 15th February - at 9am. All players
are welcome - new and old! Indoor training is at Outwood
Grange on Tuesday at 8pm.
Once again, we will
be running two Open Age teams - the 1st team will be
defending their YML Premier Division championship
and the Reserves will be joining the Yorkshire Mens
League Division 6.
News about 2 upcoming
friendlies for you - on 1st March there's an away game
against Bentley ARLFC and then a home match against
Eastmoor Dragons on the 8th March.

for 2025 - Stanley Rangers are recruiting players for our newly
formed Under 12s girls team. No experience is required and
there's expert coaching. This is for girls in Years 6/7.

RUGBY FOR UNDER 7s AND UNDER 8s |

Our
Under 7s and 8s are busy training for the pre-match festival at
Wakefield Trinity on 26th January.
If you're looking for
a way to get your children into a sport, come along and try
rugby league for boys and girls. No experience is required and
we have trained coaches who will give them all the help and
encouragement they need. For Under 7s it's school year 2 and for
under 8s it's school year 3. Training is on Monday evenings and
the games are on Sunday mornings.

MATCH POSTPONED |

Unfortunately due to the adverse weather conditions we have had
to postpone the BetFred Challenge Cup 1st round match against
Hunslet ARLFC on Saturday 9th January.
The game will now
be played on Saturday 18th January at Ranger Park with a 2pm
kick off. We are also looking for a match sponsor. Anyone who is
interested please contact us through our Facebook page or
contact one of the coaches.

MASTERS TRAINING RESTARTS IN 2025 |

 Training
for season 2025 will begin on Tuesday 7th January. The
Masters have the 1G Astro booked at Outwood Grange
Academy from 8-9pm which will be shared with the
Open Age and the Under 18s. Please bring £5 on your first session
to go towards the hire. This will be a one-off payment.
The sessions will run for 10 weeks, after which
the training will revert back to training at the club.
