Under 16s Australian Exchange, 2005-6 Stanley Rangers webmaster caught up with Rockhampton State High School year 11 students Brad McClelland and Greg Mooney after their first game for Stanley Rangers Under 16s on December 4th. The pair were selected to represent the school in this exchange after excelling on the sporting fields this year. Brad and Greg travelled from Australia on November 26th and arrived in time to attend the Tri-Nations Final at Elland Road where they were disappointed to see New Zealand beat Australia 24-0.They are staying with Outwood Grange College pupils Joe Binns and John McDermott and attending lessons with them. They will both be playing with the Outwood Grange College rugby league team. Brad, who is staying with Joe and his family and Greg, who is staying with John's family will be here for two months. At today's game, Greg played at prop and Brad at second row. Both boys enjoyed the game which resulted in a narrow defeat for Stanley against Huddersfield St Johns Under 16s 8-10. Consolation came for Brad who scored a try, with Alistair McMaster scoring the other. Both boys said how much they were enjoying their stay but commented on how cold it is in England! They return home in January 2006. Joe and John will be travelling out to Rockhampton in July 2006. Photos of the boys were taken in the Stanley Rangers clubhouse.
