Open Age Match Reports, 2007-8 Egremont Rangers 10 v Stanley Rangers 6 A closely-fought encounter in Cumbria left Stanley just four points behind Egremont Rangers who won 10-6. Stanley began with a Gareth Whitehead penalty but then Egremont replied with two tries from Warren Stainton. Just on the stroke of half time Richard Cattley scored a try that gave Stanley a hard-earned 6-4 lead at the interval. Stainton levelled with his third goal bu then winger Callum Cunliffe grabbed the winning try for the hosts after they had withstood Stanley's pressure. Next week sees Stanley at home to Askam. |
