Heworth 8 v Stanley Rangers 18
170.11.07

A second successive win for Stanley Rangers saw them travel to York and beat hosts Heworth 18-8.

The first half was a tight affair with an early penalty by Ben Potter being cancelled out through a successful Danny Grice penalty goal five minutes from the break for the scores at half time just 2-2.

At the start of the second half a try from Heworth's Mike Welsh gave them the lead and the hard-working efforts from Sean Holmes and John Coulson looked as if the lead might increase. However, with the introduction of Johnny Molyneux and Gareth Rollinson at the start of the second half, Stanley began to get back into the game with a try under the posts from Molyneux from a loose ball. Grice missed the conversion but Rollinson sped in for a try, goaled by Molyneux. Heworth still had their chances, with Carl Potter looking a threat but a penalty from Molyneux and a late John Nunns try saw Stanley take home the spoils.
