Open Age Match Reports, 2007-8 Stanley Rangers 28 v Castleford Lock Lane 20 In a game of two halves, Stanley Rangers came out on top 28-20 after leading 22-0 in the first half. Stanley dominated the first half, with an impressive performance from second row Mark Robinson. Stand-off Ben Walker stepped and dashed his way to a superb hat-trick of tries and pacy Danny Duce added a fourth. Danny Grice added three goals. In th second half, Lock Lane came fighting back as Carl Stockton, Mark Spears and Richard Potts went over for a try apiece with a conversion from Wayne Hardy. A 70th minute try from prop Simon Carr with a Gareth Whitehead conversion gave Stanley some space but a final Lock Lane try from Wayne Hardy who also added the goal meant it was a tense finish to the final whistle. Next weekend, Stanley are at home to Crosfields. |
