Stanley suffered a crushing defeat at Millom in their last match of the season.

The home side were too powerful and hungry for success, lying in second place in the league. In the first half, Millom's first try was scored by Paul Evans with a second try from Graham Lupton, goaled by Evans. By half time, Evans and Paul Lupton had added extra tries with Evans landing three goals, making a 22-0 lead to Millom.

Three minutes after the restart, Evans completed his hat-trick and from then on, Millom continued scoring. Tries from Dawson, Miller, Lloyd and Lupton resulted in a 56-0 score to leave Millom just one win short of promotion..

For Stanley, prop Andy Cattley and second row Simon Carr worked hard but Stanley were just unable to beat the Maroons.
