Stanley Rangers 6 v Normanton Knights 13
29.12.07

With each team having three successive wins under their belts, each team went into this Christmas fixture with determination.

In front of a large vocal crowd with supporters from both teams, in the first half it was evenly placed and Stanley went into the break with a 4-0 lead due to two penalties from the boot of scrum half Gareth Whitehead.

As the weather worsened with gusty winds and sleet, both teams played on but it was Normanton who evened the score with a try centre Chris Lewis, converted by Mick Hill. Rangers replied with a third goal from Whitehead but the visitors edged ahead with a drop goa from Hill nine minutes from time. Despite the best efforts from Stanley Rangers, however, Knights sealed a win with a try in the 78th minute from Lewis, converted by Hill.
