Open Age Match Reports, 2007-8 Stanningley 16 v Stanley Rangers 30 IStanley built on their successful start to their new season in the NCL with an impressive display against old rivals Stanningley 30-16. Stanley opened the scoring with a penalty goal from Danny Grice but Stanningley replied with a try from winger Michael Holmes, converted by Martin Wood. Craig Rhodes then claimed Stanley's second try , goaled by Grice to take Stanley into a 14-6 lead at the break. In the second half it was Stanley who dominated with tries from Danny Grice and scrum half Gareth Whitehead, both converted by Grice. Stanningley fought back with converted tries from Martin Wood and Stuart Holliday but a couple of Grice penalties ensured Stanley took the two points with a final score of 30-16. Stanley's Man of the Match was awarded to Carl Clawson. |
