Under 11s Wildcats Match Reports, 2007-8 Hunslet Parkside U11s v Stanley Rangers U11s Wildcats Another big test for the Wildcats this week saw them away at Hunslet Pakside. With only 9 available players it was going to be a tough day but the Wildcats responded to the challenge well and opened the scoring in the early stages of the game with a try from powerful prop Ben Fisher. Further tries were added during the first half from Robert Hartley with a brace and the Wildcats kept Hunslet Parkside scoreless with some excellent defending although Hunslet did put up a strong test by keeping the ball alive almost at will. The second half saw Hunslet score from the first set of the half and they went on to score the next try somewhat against the rules. The Wildcats responded well with a further try from Ben Fisher only to see Hunslet close the gap to 4 points. The Wildcats then dug very deep and this was rewarded with further scores from Robert Hartley again, Rachel Proctor and a double from returning stand off Lewis Gower. This was too much for a l;ively Hunslet to make up although they did add another try at the death. Four of the tries were converted by Lewis Gower, Tom Shippen, Jack Pemberton and Robert Hartley. This outstanding effort maintained the 100% record for the Wildcats as they remain unbeaten in almost 2 years The parents' choice as Man of the Match was Joseph Smith after a tremendous display of strong running to set up a couple of tries. The coaches award went to Robert Hartley for an excellent all round display and the magic moment award went to Tom Shippen for the second week in a row for an excellent ball and all crunching tackle to prevent a score form the hosts.
