Under 11s Wildcats Match Reports, 2007-8 Stanley Rangers U11s Wildcats v Stanningley U11s Another great game form the Wildcats where they were again severely tested by a strong second half comeback from Stanningley. It was the Wildcats that started the quicker with 2 tries from Ben Fisher and Captain Dom Dorgan. The visitors then replied after some weak defence from the Wildcats. This did not stop a rampant Wildcats as they went on to score a further 2 tries in the half from Alex Hobson. Stanningley replied just before half time but Stanley went into the half time break ahead. The second half was a slow affair for the first 10 minutes until Tom Shippen scored the magic moment try of the match with a run from deep inside his own half beating most of the visitors single handed. Stanningley then replied with a very similar try of their own. In a very tight and tense finish Ben Fisher completed the Wildcats scoring with his second to effectively seal the game although Stanningley kept the game alive with a further score but the Wildcats remained strong in the final minutes to hang on for victory. This has extended the Wildcats unbeaten start to this season and since they bagan almost 2 years ago. A fantastic achievement for such a young team. The Man of the Match awards went to Alex Hobson and Aaron Cooper with Tom Shippen receiving the Magic Moment award. Four conversions were added to the Wildcats tries from Dom Dorgan, Alex Hobson, Tom Shippen and Jacob Unwin. |
