Stanley Rangers Under 14s travelled to Fryston Warriors on Sunday.
Stanley confident after last week's good win, started the game well lead by Govoskij, Hopkinson, Talbot, Bradbury and Lewis Kelly all making good metres, with impressive hooker Gilfeather and half’s Harnetty and Logan Wheelhouse getting Rangers on the front foot. Some good hands and spotting of space got recent signing Sam Moore in the corner, the conversion missed by Earnshaw, 0-4,
Stanley again looked strong with some good runs from the wings Chadwick and Liam Auty getting the Stanley team out of trouble. Some good hands again got Dylan Roberts in out wide. The conversion was missed again, making the score, 0-8. Some ill discipline let the Warriors back in before half time to make the score, 6-8 at the break.
Stanley had to weather an early storm as the home side gained in confidence but Stanley finally got into 2nd gear and scored some great tries from Hopkinson, Medlock and a 2nd half hat-rick from Sam Moore to take his tally to 4 in the game with 2 conversions kicked by Earnshaw. Rangers conceded a late try but were well in control at the end. The final score was 12-28.
Sam Moore and Logan Wheelhouse picked up the Man of the Match award. Head coach Paul Dean was happy with the result but knows it was far from a perfect performance.
