Our first team will be playing in the newly formed NCRL Yorkshire Conference and reserves in the YML Merit League.

We are thrilled to announce the return of Macca to the coaching team for 2026. John joins back up with us as an assistant coach with his main focus on the Reserves team.

He played a huge part in the success of the 2024 season and we are delighted he’s decided to come back. We have a big focus on bringing through the next generation of first team players and more importantly getting as many people as possible playing on a weekend.

Big thanks to Ultra Gym in Horbury for having the Open Age squad for training.

While the pre season doesn’t start properly until January, the Open Age will be there on Saturday mornings to get a head start before the New Year. Anybody that is thinking about playing or wants to get out the house and moving is welcome to join us. Numbers are limited so please contact the team if you'd like to joining.

CLUBHOUSE OPEN ON BOXING DAY

Stanley Sports and Social Club will be open on Boxing Day from 11am with a free buffet and music. Also hoping to show the Wakefield Trinity v Leeds game.

The John Holroyd Award will also be presented.

NOMINEES FOR THE JOHN HOLROYD AWARD 2025

It is that time of the year again where we see nominations for the prestigious award to honour John and our future Rangers.

The first nominee for The John Holroyd Award is Joe Sampson from the Under 14s; the second is Chris Walker; the third is Craig Robinson, the fourth is Chris Brown and Iris Washington is the final one.

The result will be announced at the clubhouse on Boxing Day

GREAT NEWS FOR STANLEY RANGERS ARLFC

We’re delighted to announce we have been placed into the newly restructured NCRL Yorkshire Conference. The club will be in Tier 3, Yorkshire A with 9 other teams The new group will be Beverley; Drighlington, Keighley Albion, King Cross Park, Moldgreen ARLFC, Myton Warriors, Oulton Raiders, Spartans, Stanley Rangers and Thornhill Trojans.

This is a huge milestone for our club and a testament to how far our Open Age side has come. After withdrawing from the NCL in 2018, we rebuilt from the bottom restarting in 2021 in Division 5 of the Yorkshire Men’s League. Fast forward to 2024, we were crowned YML Premier League Champions and Grand Final Winners. 2025 saw our first Challenge Cup appearance in over a decade.

It’s been an incredible journey, and now we’re ready to push the club even further.

As part of our next step, we plan to run two open age teams in 2026 and are now recruiting players of all levels, whether you’re an experienced player or just keen to get involved.

Pre-season begins in January, with a pre-Christmas get-together date to be confirmed shortly.
