Elland 12 v Stanley Rangers 21
Yorkshire Cup Round 4
22.10.05

Stanley earned themselves a place in the quarter finals of the Yorkshire Cup against Cutsyke with a 21-12 win against Elland.

Good early forward play from Stanley led to a first try with Hogan putting Godfrey under the sticks, Danny Grice converting. Elland, currently fifth in the Pennine League Division One, replied with a converted try to bring the score level. Fast turn of pace by Cooper saw Rangers cross the line again, once more converted by Grice. The hosts hit back with an unconverted try, with the visitors holding a slender 12-10 lead at half time.

Stanley were soon penalised at the restart with Elland landing a penalty shortly after the kick off to level the score but this proved to be the host's last score. Walker topped a fine performance with an excellent try for Stanley, unsuccessfully converted by Grice. Soon after, Grice made up for this by landing a field goal before Catley extended Stanley's lead with another try to give them a well-deserved victory.

Player of the Match was Futty.
