Open Age Match Reports, 2005-6 Heworth 18 v Stanley Rangers 24 Stanley are through to the first round of the Powergen Challenge Cup with 24-18 win over Heworth. Heworth had a slender 12-8 lead at the interval with tries from Richard Cattley and Jackie Hogan, whilst Heworth's points came from Cochrane and Smith, goaled by Coulson. After the interval, Cattley gained his second try just after the restart and when Heworth had Ben Eastwood sin-binned for holding down, Mark Riley powered in for a try, converted by Danny Grice. Mark Robinson then claimed a fourth try, again goaled by Grice. Heworth came back with a try from Foster, goaled by Coulson, but it was Stanley who held the lead. Danny Grice was awarded the Man of the Match. |
