Stanley Rangers 30 v Stanningley 18
03.12.05

Stanley were just too strong for Stanningley and their 30-18 home win takes them to fourth in the Premier Division.

Rangers took the first points with an unconverted try from Mark Robinson but this was soon cancelled out by a converted try from the visitors. Stanley then took the initiative and increased the scoreline with tries from Robinson and Petty, both converted by Danny Grice. James Robbins then added another try, unconverted, to bring the half time score to 20-6 to Stanley.

In the second half, Stanley extended their lead with a second try for Petty again converted by Grice, who followed this up with a penalty. Stanningley replied with two converted tries but further points from a Gareth Whitehead penalty say Stanley run out the winners in this hard-fought and physical encounter.

Man of the Match was Garth Petty, pushed hard by Robinson and Mark Riley.
