Stanley Rangers advanced into the second round of the Wakefield & District ARL's Unison President's Cup with a hard-fought 20-10 win over Westgate Redoubt of the Pennine League.
Westgate took the lead and held on to it into the second half when Stanley began to exert themselves and ran in four tries through Chris Wolford, Craig Cawthray, Richard Cattley and Mark Robinson. Danny Grice landed two goals.

Graham Fisher's touchdown gave Westgate a 4-0 lead at the break but the home side could only manage a try by Stuart Moran in the later stages and one goal by Mark Hovell.
