Under 14s Match Reports, 2004-5

Stanningley U14s 26 v Stanley Rangers U14s 27
14.11.04

A last-gasp drop goal by Matty Wildie gave Stanley Rangers Under 14s a dramatic win over an in-fom Stanningley in a 27-26 win. The game was marred by a serious ankle injury to Stanley's Jake Brown who fractured his ankle.

Stanley were trailing 16-4 at half time but hit back in the second half to take the lead 26-22 with five minutes to go. However Stanningley then retook the lead with an equalising try which they failed to convert. Wildie's drop goal sealed the win for Stanley in the last minutes.

Top tackler Matty Wildie earned Player of the Match with his score of two tries and three goals. Other tries came from Carl Harrison, Daniel Dunn and Leyton Sharp, his first for the club.
