Stanley Rangers U15s kept their unbeaten run going with a decisive win 30-8 against Smawthorne and with it the Yorkshire Junior League Division 1 Championship. Both teams were missing influential players - Jack Lee from Smawthorne and Jordan Horsfield from Stanley - who had both been picked for the England Under 15 squad match against Wales.

Rangers played their fast-flowing rugby and took an early lead through Kieran Hyde who scored two tries and converted both to open up a 12 point gap. Rangers then extended their lead when Gareth Firm forced his way over the line and Hyde converted, followed by a try from Jason Tingey.

In the second half, Dayle Brickwood and Sam Taylor socred tries to secure the game and the title.
