On Saturday
19th October, the Under 11s are at home against Illingworth with
a 10am kick off; the Under 10s are at home to Sherburn kicking
off at 11am.
On Sunday the 20th October, the Under 9s are
away at Kippax, 9.30am kick off; the Under 8s are away at
Dewsbury Moor; the Under 7s are also away at Batley; the Under
6s have a BYE and the Masters are at home against York, kicking
off at 1pm.
On Saturday 26th October, the Under 11s will
be at home against Milford kicking off at 10am and the Under 10s
will be at home against Normanton with an 11.30am kick off.
On Sunday 27th October, the Under 9s are at home to Milford

done to Stanley Rangers Josh Cassar and his cousin Karl who
played for Malta against Italy in the Medieval Shield on the
28th September. The result of the match, played in Bagnaria
Arsa, Italy, was a 42-0 win for Malta. There is a report of the

More than 80 junior players from seven different Community
clubs were at the pre-match Community Festival before the game between Wakefield Trinity and Barrow Raiders on September 21st.
The club thanked Thornhill Trojans, Castleford Lock Lane, Ossett
Trinity Tigers, Crigglestone All Blacks, Bassetlaw Bulldogs,
Sharlston Rovers and Stanley Rangers for coming down to the
DIY Kitchens Stadium.

RANGERS - YORKSHIRE MENS LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! |

Stanley
Rangers played Kings Cross Park in the YML Premier Division
Playoff Final and came away the winners 22-12. Tries were from
Charlie Roche, Joel Walsh, Joel Marsh and Jed Goddard,
with 3 successful conversions by Liam Gaunt. Man of the Match
went to Danny Ansell.
Congratulations to the players,
coaching and management staff for the hard work and dedication
that has seen the team rise in just over four years from
Division Five to the Premier Division Champions.

On Saturday the semi final playoffs for the YML Premier Division
took place and Rangers had a great win over fourth placed
Fryston Warriors 20-12. This means that Rangers are now in the
final of the YML Premier Division Playoffs against King Cross
Park who beat Doncaster Toll Bar 34-16 in the other semi final.
The Final takes place on Saturday 14th September at the
Millenium Stadium, Featherstone WF7 5EN, with a 5pm kick off.
Entry price is £5 for adults; £3 for concessions - under 16s and
over 60. CASH ONLY. Anyone requiring a lift to the
ground is encouraged to meet at the clubhouse before 2.30pm to
minimise the number of cars going to the ground.
Only 4
years ago the team was reformed with the aim of winning the
Premier Division, so let's get behind the lads on Saturday! |
UNDER 13S ARE WINNERS! |

On Wednesday September 11th, Stanley Rangers U13s played against
Normanton Knights U13s in the Final of the Wakefield & District ARL Under
13s Cup at Featherstone Rovers ground, the Millenium Stadium.
This was a closely-fought game with both sides giving their all. In the
final minutes of the game, Stanley Rangers scored and the successful
conversion was taken right in the last minute. Massive congratulations to the
boys and the coaches and staff who have worked so hard for this fantastic
achievement.

the BARLA Yorkshire Cup with a 11.30am kick off; the Under 8s

saw Stanley come away with the two points and become top of the
league with a 34-14 win. Try scorers were Liam Grimmett, Pat
Harrison, Liam Gaunt, Joel Marsh (2) and Joel Walsh with 5 goals
added by Liam Gaunt.

playing against Hunslet Blues with a 6.30pm kick off.
Next weekend will see the return of the Yorkshire Junior and
Youth League fixtures after the summer break. Fixtures to be

Stanley Rangers have teams playing in the
Wakefield ARL Finals and the Yorkshire BARLA Cup. On Wednesday
11th September the Under 13s will play Featherstone U13s in the
Wakefield ARL U13s Final at the Millenium Stadium, Featherstone

Then on Thursday 19th September the Under 18s will play against

Our annual
memorial game took place last Saturday with the Stanley
Rangers Open Age taking on the Masters team. A lot of
fun was had by all as we all came together to remember
the Rangers family we have lost.

7s to 9s Gala was a huge success and was a great day. Now
the under 10s right through to the Masters have their turn
to be involved in our 2024 fundraising.. On Saturday - 17th
August - the day begins with the sponsored fun run which
will start at 10am from the clubhouse. There will be plenty
going on throughout the day with raffles,tombola,bouncy
castles,BBQ, etc.
The fundraising is in aid of Stanley Rangers 2025
campaign for another successful season, of being able to
provide rugby league opportunities for all involved along
with commemorating those we have lost along the way.

is to have fun and learn some core skills The session are every

The Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation will be
running Junior Rugby League Camps throughout the summer
holidays for players aged 6-11. The sessions will take place on four
Friday’s throughout August with players being split into two
ages groups throughout the day. They will be taking place at
Stanley Rodillians RUFC and Crigglestone All Blacks.

player or you can book your child on all four sessions for a
discounted price of just £30. Boys and Girls are all welcome at

Stars Vs Rugby League All Stars at 3pm.
Our Under 10s were there to support the Under 7s when they
were collecting their
participation medals.

and Malcolm Sampson all achieved successful rugby league careers and

have all been devasted by the sad passing of Rob Burrow on
Sunday but like the rugby family we will all come together to
support each other. As a mark of respect our teams will be
holding a minute's silence or applause before each game this
weekend. We have been so proud of our Under 7s team who played
at Swillington last night and came together for a minute's

June the Open Age 1st team are at home to Doncaster Toll Bar

other games, the Under 13s are away at Sharlston Rovers, the
Under 11s are at home to Milford with a 10am KO and the Under
10s are away at Hunslet. On Sunday 2nd June, the Under 18s
travel to King Cross Park; the Under 16s have a 11.30am kick off
at home against Keighley Albion; the the Under 8s are at home to

It's a quiet weekend for our teams but
there are still two games at the weekend. On Saturday 25th May,
the Reserves will have a home game against Moorends Marauders
with a 2.30pm kick off. Our Masters team will be taking part in
a Life for a Kid charity event at the Featherstone
Lions with the Rugby League All Stars. Their game against the
LFAK All Stars will kick off at 1pm, followed by a game between
the Rugby League All Stars and Featherstone Lions at 3pm. It
will be at the Millpond Stadium, Wakefield Road, Featherstone,
WF7 5DE.

weekend with the 1st team losing at Almondbury Spartans 16-36.
This moves them into third place in the Premier Division below
Almondbury Spartans and Doncaster Toll Bar with the top four

Ossett Trinity Tigers 18-10. |

In the local derby last Saturday it was
Rangers who came away winners against Westgate Common 36-16 and
kept their place at the top of the YML Premier Division. Man of
the Match Liam Grimmett scored twice and there were further
tries from Jordan O'Neil, Joel Walsh, Jed Goddard and Liam
Gaunt. The Open Age Reserves were unlucky to lose out to
20-26 to Odsal Sedbergh.

Congratulations go to Stanley Rangers Masters players Steve
Caton, Danny Barnes and Jordan Colbeck who represented GB Police
RL Masters on their tour in France, playing against the Galia
Tots Masters on a hot, sunny Saturday at the Jean Galia stadium
in Ille-Sur_Tete, Perpignan. Following the match, the team went
to the Stade Glbert Brutus to watch Catalan Dragons v Leeds
Rhinos.

Life For A Kid All Stars in a few weeks time. The match
against LFAK All Stars will serve as a curtain raiser to
the RL All Stars match vs

GREAT START FOR THE GIRLS |

first training session for our new girls squad was held on
Tuesday 7th May and what a great start! Fourteen girls came to
Rangers Park to learn the basics of the game, have fun and make
new friends. A big thank you to Becky Harrison Thresh and Paul
Britton for running the girls team. The next session will be
next Tuesday evening at 7pm at the club. |

We are super excited to launch the first all girls
session for 2024 on Tuesday 7th May at 7pm. This is for
girls in school years 5 and 6. Join the fun, make new
friends and learn new skills. Training starts on the 7th
May from 7-8pm at the club.
No pressure to have played before, no experience is needed,
any ability is fine. Our aim is to build up this
year ready to take part in 2025 with an all girls 12s
team.

our Under 13s team who got through to the next round of the YJYL
Under 13s Challenge Cup by beating Shaw Cross Sharks Blacks
34-12. A hat trick of tries from Logan Grice, with
tries by Ralph Donaldson and Joseph Dowling, along with 5
successful goals by Logan Grice saw our Under 13s keep
progressing. The draw for the next round will be made shortly.
On Friday 3rd May the Under 13s are away at
Featherstone.
On Saturday 4th May, the U13s are away at Lock Lane;
the Under 11s are away at West Bowling
and the Under 10s are at home to Batley
Boys.
On Sunday 5th May, the Under 18s

go to Stanley Rangers Lewis Walsh from the Under 16s team. Lewis
has been selected for Scotland Under 16s squad for their
forthcoming international games against England, Ireland and
Wales. The squad recently had a great win against a well-drilled
North East select side, winning 54-36. This gives the squad
great preparation for the upcoming competition. Everyone at

Rangers 1st team took the two points
against Keighley Albion with a 32-12 win. Tries came from Jed
Goddard, Charlie Marsh (2), Jake Lord, Joel Walsh and Man of the
Match Jack Ledger, with 3 conversions by Liam Gaunt. This win
moves them to the top of the Premier Division table, on points
difference, with Fryston Warriors and King Cross Park also on 4
points.
On the 25th April, the Open Age Reserves
travelled to York to take on the York St John Barbarians and had
a great win 16-10. |

season against Fryston Warriors, 16-10 at full time. In a close
game an unconverted try from Liam Temple made the half time
score 4-6. All to play for in the second half and tries from
Liam Grimmett and Joe Binns with two goals from Danny Ansell saw
Rangers celebrate taking the two points.

Rangers cup game against Westgate Common last Saturday 6th April
it was a close run first half finishing 12-14. However in the
second half Westgate pulled ahead and came out eventual winners
16-42. Rangers Jack Ledger was the Stanley Man of the Match and
the Under 18s narrowly lost out to Drighlington 10-16. |

is looking forward to the game today and we're hoping to have a
bumper crowd. As a result, parking will be limited at Stanley
Sports & Social (WF3 4EP). On site parking will therefore be
prioritised for both sets of players, coaches, the referee and
anyone requiring close access (e.g. disability). Travelling fans
of both teams are encouraged to car share where possible, and
additional parking is available at Stanley Rodillians RUFC (WF3
4EF), 100 yards down the road. Car park marshals will be located
at both sites and will help with directions and such. Please
note Stanley Rodillians car Park will shut at 6pm. |
