Egremont had the edge over Stanley Rangersin this BARLA National Cup round one match, winning 22-10.
Egremont took the lead in the first half with a 20 minute try from Matthew Whalley and one five minutes later from Matty Caton, converted by Craig Fisher. Stanley hit back with a Richard Cattley try, converted by Danny Grice, resulting in Stanley only trailing 10-6 at the interval.
After the break, it was full back Rhys Daves who scored an 80-metre try, goaled by Fisher, to take the home side further ahead. Egremont increased their lead further with a try from John Young, again converted by Fisher but a late spell of pressure from Stanley resulted in a try from Mark Robinson but Stanley were not able to reduce the gap and the final score was 22-10 to Egremont.
