Stanley Rangers first game of the new season in the Fraser Eagle NCL Division Two saw them beat Egremont 48-16 with a deciding second half display.

Prop Mark Robinson gave Stanley the lead after 7 minutes with Gareth Whitehead successfully converting the try. Egremont replied ten minutes later with a try from John Young, converted by Craig Fisher. On the half hour, Stanley's loose forward Jamie Collings crossed the line and this try, again converted by Whitehead, put Stanley 12-6 ahead at the interval.

It was just four minutes into the second half that Stanley took hold of the game with stand off Molyneux setting up tries for Andy Rice, Daz Gaunt and Collings in a five minute spell. Egremont battled on and were rewarded with tries from Lee Cunningham and Craig Fisher. However, Stanley's further tries from John Cooper, Mark Robinson and John Nunns all successfully converted by Whitehead secured the first win of the season in style.

Stanley: Tries - Robinson (2), Collings (2), Rice, Gaunt, Cooper, Nunns. Goals - Whitehead (8).

Egremont: Tries - Young, Cunningham, Fisher. Goals - Fisher (2).

Half time: 12 - 6.
