Rangers picked up vital points with a good win over fellow promotion hunters Ovenden 16-4.

Ovenden took the lead in the 38th minute with a Dean McCallum try in a defence-dominated first half. However, a try from Kyle Sampson two minutes later made it 4-4 at half time.

A penalty from Danny Duce on the 55th minute, gave Stanley the lead before a Mark Robinson try, converted by Duce opened the lead up further, substitute Phil Marshall making a big impression. Ten minutes from time a try from Duce made sure of the two points although Ovenden kept on trying.

This win keeps Stanley in fourth place in the table.

Stanley: Tries - Sampson, Robinson, Duce. Goals - Duce (2).

Ovenden: Tries - McCallum.
