Stanley Rangers 30 v Crosfields 26

Stanley Rangers had to withstand a second half fight-back from oppposition Crosfields before finally coming out 30-26 winners.
The visitors scored first with a try from winger Bannon, goaled by Williams. However on the quarter mark, Rangers moved into action with stand-off Kevin King scoring the first try, then setting up Jacky Hogan for a touchdown which King converted successfully.
On the 32nd minute, Kyle Sampson crossed the line and then on the stroke of half time, Gareth Whithead claimed the fourth home try again converted by King, which gave Rangers a 22-6 lead at the interval.
Within two minutes of the restart, Crosfields began their fightback with Bannon crossing for his second try of the game. Rangers replied with a Sampson try before Crosfields' Matty Pitt scoring a try, converted by Williams. A King penalty gave Stanley a respite but the visitors again added to their tally with tries from Berry and Monks and a third goal from Jimmy Williams. The last nine minutes saw Stanley strongly defending to keep their lead. The final score was 30-26 to Rangers.
Stanley travel to Egremont next weekend.
