Stanley Rangers 32 v East Leeds 6
12.12.09
East Leeds opened the scoring with an eight minute try from Jamie Robinson, converted by Steve Parnell but this was to be their only points in the game.
Rangers stepped up the pace after centre Andrew Brooke went in for the first of his two tries which Kevin King successfully converted. Then two tries in a six minute spell from Kyle Sampson, who ended up with a hat-trick, took the game away from Easts. Rangers had a 16-6 lead which was then increased two minutes from half time when substitute Damien Thomas broke through the visitor's defence. King added his third goal and Rangers went in at the interval with a 16-point lead.
The 53rd minute saw Rangers add their next try when Brooke added his second try and Sampson completed his hat-trick four minutes from time. This time scrum-half Gareth Whitehead added the conversion which saw Rangers make it six wins in a row to stay second in the table.
