Eastmoor 24 v Stanley Rangers 34
28.11.09
Stanley's fifth straight win in a row over Eastmoor 34-24 moved them up to second place in the Dvision Two table.
This derby fixture between Stanley and Eastmoor was in the balance throughout, with Matty Firth outstanding for Rangers along with Danny Grice and Richard Cattley, whilst the Dragons' Adrian Mulcahy and Greg Wilby had strong games.
In the first half, Eastmoor scored through a penalty from Leigh Joyce but Mark Robinson's try, converted by Kevin King, put the visitors in front. Eastmoor replied with a try from Wilby, goaled by Joyce before a Jacky Hogan try, and a couple of Kevin King goals, put Stanley in a 14-8 lead at half time.
Matty Firth crossed for the score on the 46th minute with King adding the extras, before tries from Joyce and Mulcahy, both converted by Joyce, levelled the scores 20-20 on the 63rd minute.
Richard Cattley, however, got the decisive breakthrough with King goaling and adding a penalty before Hogan's second try put the game out of reach. Nevertheless, a late try from Eastmoor's Ashley Allman gave the Dragons a final score.
