Castleford Lock Lane 42 v Stanley Rangers 20
10.04.10
A spirited second half fight-back saw Lock Lane take the two points over Stanley Rangers in the battle for third place in the league.
An Andy Brooke try, goaled by Danny Grice gave Rangers a 6-0 lead with just two minutes gone but three minutes later Lock Lane were level thanks to a try from Andy Matthews and a Rowse goal. This was how it stayed until just short of the half hour when Rangers took the lead again with a James Brown try. Chris Cawthray added another a minute later and with two more Grice conversions plus a penalty, Rangers were firmly in the driving seat 20-10. Lock Lane reduced the deficit with a try from Ben Mawson to make the half time score 20-10 to Rangers.
The second half saw a sprited performance from Lane as they ran in six unanswered tries from Joe Groves, Matthews, Craig Duncan (2), Scott Horner and Mark Spears. Rowse landed two goals as did Wayne Hardy.
If Stanley can win their final game it is still possible for Lane to be pipped at the post for the promotion spot.
