Stanley Rangers 24 v Ovenden 16

Rangers beat a hard-working Ovenden side 24-16 to keep them in the running for the promotion race but they did it the hard way, coming back from a 6-16 deficit at half time before keeping Ovenden from scoring in the second half.
Ovenden's winger Kurt Sutcliff got the visitors started with an 18 minute try goaled by Matty Collins to give them a 6-0 lead. Rangers hit back three minutes later with a Dave Baxby try which Danny Grice successfully converted to make the scores level. Ovenden then had a good speel with two further first half tries from Sutcliff and Short. Collins added one goal which gave the visitors their 16-6 lead.
In the second half, Rangers upped their game and eight minutes after the start, Adam Lunn crossed the whitewash again goaled by Grice. Eleven minutes before time Baxby added another and five minutes later completed his hat-trick. Grice added one more conversion and a penalty right on time.
This coming weekend Stanley Rangers are away to league rivals Lock Lane.
