Shaw Cross Sharks 12 v Stanley Rangers 56
12.09.09
An impressive 56-12 win over hosts Shaw Cross Sharks saw Stanley Rangers move to the top of Division Two.
A 10 minute try from John Nunns was goaled by Kevin King which was replied to by Shaw Cross's Chris Renton with a try and a goal. However, Rangers replied with a Kyle Sampson try in the 35th minute and by half time Jacky Hogan and Chris Walker had blasted over to give Stanley a 20-6 lead at the interval.
Within five minutes of the restart, Sampson went in for his second try and despite the best efforts of the home side, in particular Ryan Glynn, it was one-way traffic from then on. With a strong performance from Matty Firth, Gareth Whitehead and Carl Clawson added two further tries before Glynn responded forthe host's second try goaled by Renton. More points were added by Whitehead, Rhodes and Andrew Brooke, with King finishing with eight goals.
