Stanley Rangers 54 v Waterhead 6

In their first game of the season, Rangers kicked off with an impressive 54-6 win over Waterhead.
The opening spell saw scrum half Gareth Whitehead, fullback Andrew Brooke, John Gledhill and John McDermott go in for tries which stand-off Kevin King converted for a 24-0 lead at half time.
In the second half, Waterhead's Patrick Tuft tried to stem the flow but Matty Firth and King added further tries before the visitors scored their only try of the match from Ashley Wildman, converted by Chris Hepworth.
Stanley continued to dominate the game, with more tries from Chris Walker, John McDermott, David Foster and Whitehead. King finished off with seven goals.
This win puts Stanley into third place in Division Two, below Lock Lane and Oldham St Annes. The next fixture is away at Shaw Cross Sharks.
