Rangers kept up the pressure on leaders Oulton Raiders with a 24-6 win over Castleford Panthers.
There was no score until the 31st minute when Stanley stand-ff Danny Grice landed a penalty. Further points were added with a Matty Firth try goaled by Grice, letting Stanley go in at half time with a 8-0 lead.
Three minutes after the break, winger Scott Childs went over the line but the Panthers fought back with a try from second row Paul Steel with Steve Coutts adding the extras. Rangers renewed their dominance with a Grice try on the hour and with five minutes remaining it was Grice who landed a penalty to increase the home score. A final try from Danny Sampson, converted by Grice, gave Rangers the two points and kept them in second place iin Division One.
This coming weekend, Stanley travel to Eccles.
