Myton Warriors 32 v Stanley Rangers 10
19.03.11
Myton's determination to move up the table paid off as they forced Rangers to a 10-32 defeat.
A quick start for Myton saw them take the lead with a fifth minute try by winger Lee James, converted by his brother Ashley. That proved to be the only score until nearly half time, when James again crossed the line, with the extras added by A. James who also added a penalty to give the home side a 14-0 lead at half time.
Stanley's Tom Colleran, Danny Grice and Darryl Gaunt continued to threaten and their reward was a try for winger Joel Marsh on 55 minutes. Back came Myton, however, with Ash James grabbing a try and adding the extras. Marsh claimed his second touchdown for Grice to goal and with a 10-point lead Myton could not afford to be complacent. But on the 73rd minute their substitute Carl Booth crossed the whitewash, converted by James. Asg James claimed his second try of the match and with his sixth goal Myton took the two points.
Next weekend, Stanley are at home to Rochdale Mayfield.
