Stanley Rangers 34 v Widnes St Maries 18

Stanley Rangers made it three wins a row with an excellent 34-18 result over Widnes St Maries.
With Stanley's Matty Firth, Jon Gledhill, David Foster and Craig Rhodes in fine form, Rangers took the game to their high flying visitors. It was Widnes who scored first with a try from Lee Lamb convered by Lee Birdseye.
Stanley replied with a try from Rhodes, converted by Grice. It was soon all-square with a corner try from Saint's Conroy before a Craig Williamson try and Grice's conversion gave Stanley a 16-10 lead at half time.
St. Maries scored first in the second half with Conroy notching up his second try but when Danny Grice went over for 2 tries and added a goal on 51 minutes the home side were getting on top. Centre Dale Welsh tried to take the game to Stanley but a Joel Marsh gave Stanley a further lead. Conroy added his third try but time had run otu for the visitors.
The conference Man of the Match was awarded to Matty Firth while the coaches Man of the Match awards went to Danny Grice, Mark Robinson, Craig Rhodes and Craig Williamson.
Craig Williamson backed up his Man of the Match award by a very strong performance, making a fantastic cover tackle to stop an almost certain interception try by the visitors, with Joel Marsh also putting in a strong performance for the Stanley side
