Stanley Rangers 60 v Crosfields 10
12.11.11
Rangers finished their short season on a high with a crushing victory over Crosfields 60-10.
With scrum half Ross McGretton dominating play in mid field, the powerful runs of Reece Trout at loose forward and Chris Grice in the second row all gave the visitors all sorts of problems after prop Craig Rhodes crashing over for a first minute try. Centre Oliver Wood slipped over for a second home score five minutes later and although the visitor's got a try back through Ben Hughes, goaled by Mark Hughes, Marsh scored his first of his three tries to put Stanley firmly in the driving seat.
Hooker Danny Duce, full back Sean Abson and Trout all added further tries to which Danny Grice added two goals before Crosfields replied with a Crawley try, goaled by Smith. Joel Marsh's second try helped Rangers to a 34-10 half time advantage.
In the second minute of the second half, Stanley's veteran player Dean Sampson powered in for a try, converted by Grice. Abson claimed his second try on 40 minutes, Marsh completed his hat trick and Richard Cattley and McGretton completed this 12-try romp.
