Underbank proved too strong for Stanley and took over the second half over their NCL rivals. Huddersfield were in good form and took an early lead with tries from Craig Williams and Kris Harrop, goaled by Neil Barrett. Stanley's Jackie Hogan replied with a try for Rangers before Jacob Senior added a third try again goaled by Barrett. When Stanley's Scott Childs squeezed over for a try, goaled by Danny Grice the half-time gap was reduced to 18-10 for Underbank.
Stanley's Danny Grice, Daryl Gaunt, Liam Crawley and Oliver Wood were in good form and challenging the home side but when Underbank's Nick Briggs scored two quick tries, goaled by Barrett, the home side took control. Further tries from Michael Lang, Senior and Lang again put Underbank through to the second round of the Challenge Cup.
