Lock Lane had a hard-earned success over Stanley Rangers and they can thank two late tries for sealing their win over a determined Rangers.
Lock Lane had an early start with a try at seven minutes from Robbie Mawson, converted by Wayne Hardy. Stanley responded with a try by winger Scott Childs after hard work from the impressive Reece Trout.
Lane's winger Adam Garlick and prop Ben Mawson then charged in, Hardy goaling the second but the match was back in the balance by the break with centre Richard Cattley and left wing Joel Marsh crossing the whitewash to close the gap to 16-12 at half time.
Stanley's Dean Sampson, Trout and Cattley were a real threat whilst Lock Lane's Spears, Rowse and Groves contributing to the home side's efforts. On the 48th minute Garlick grabbed his second try but Stanley wouldn't lie down and a Sampson try and a Danny Grice conversion closed the gap to just two points.
In the end it was Lane's Worrell who scored a try, converted by Garlick to give the home side victory with four minutes remaining.
Next weekend - the 15th October - Stanley travel to local rivals Normanton Knights for a 2.30pm kick off.
