Stanley Rangers 22 v York Acorn 24

York Acorn were forced to cling on for the two points they were seeking for promotion, finally succeeding with a 24-22 win over a battling Stanley Rangers.
Stanley started brightly with a Joel Marsh try on 11 minutes, then Steve Doswell scoring for Acorn. Rangers then replied with Joe Rogers going over for Rangers. However, York Acorn finished on top at the end of the first half with a try by full back Leigh Rientoul, converted by Chilton to make it three from three.
In the second half Rangers outscored Acorn by two tries to one with Jacky Hogan and Marsh scoring for the home side. Acorn's Adam Endersby replied with a try. It was the goal kicking by Chilton who made the difference and in the end it was just two points that gave Acorn the win.
This weekend - the 11th August - Stanley are away at Stanningley.

York Acorn: Tries - Doswell, Burns, Rientoul, Endersby. Goals -Chilton (4).
