Bradford Dudley Hill 26 v Stanley Rangers 22
01.03.13
Bradford Dudley Hill edged past Stanley Rangers 26-22 in Friday night’s opening NCL game.
Nathan Kitson converted his own try to open the scoring and minutes later Kenny Smith dived over to increase the home side's lead. However, Stanley hit back with a double of their own as Danny Grice converted efforts from Craig Williamson and Jamie Gollings to give his side a slender lead. The half time score was 10-12.
However, Dave Halley grabbed the first try of the second half to give Dudley Hill the lead again, before Kyle Borza and Adam Jefferson went over for touchdowns which looked to have sealed the points.
Rangers fought back when Mufaro Mvududu reduced the deficit in the 67th minute and when Craign Williamson grabbed his second with just two minutes left on the clock the home side clung on to their narrow lead to take the two points.
