Leaders Wigan St Judes were pushed all the way by Stanley Rangers before claiming their eleventh win of the season by 28-20.

The bottom-of-the-table Wakefield side were in the contest for long spells but eventually went down after conceding five tries.

Danny Thomas, Scott Robinson, Mick Whittle, Dean Hunt and Dave Myerscough were the Wigan players to cross the whitewash Robinson also added four goals.

Danny Grice was in top form for Stanley with two tries and two goals, whilst a brace from Richard Cattley meant it was an uncomfortable afternoon for the league leaders.
