Crigglestone 12 v Stanley Rangers 25
Wakefield ARL Brian McDermott Memorial City Plasterers Cup, semi-final)
18.03.06

Stanley Rangers have gone through to the final of the City Plasterers Cup by beating Crigglestone 25-12.

Crigglestone took an early lead thanks to two penalties until Rangers first major attack when they got their first converted try. A second try for Stanley gave them a 12 - 4 lead at half time.

The second half was more evenly contested with the first points going to Stanley after quick-thinking attacking play. Crigglestone hit back with a Webber try but Stanley soon countered and ran the full width of the field seemingly to score a try in the corner but kept out by Crigglestone's defence. However Stanley took their chances and with a fourth converted try and a drop goal sealed their win, despite a final converted try by Webber for the hosts.

Stanley will now go on to face Ackworth in the final.

Tries for Stanley came from John Cooper, Mark Robinson, Chris Grice and Jackie Hogan, with Gaz Whitehead contributing four goals and a drop goal.

Crigglestone's points were from two Andrew Webber tries both converted by Damien Horsley.
