Open Age Match Reports, 2005-6 Stanley Rangers 30 v Townville 12 A strong win against Townville 30-12 saw Stanley through to the semi finals of the Fred Marshall Senior Cup. In the first half, Stanley scored four tries from Chris Woolford, Craig Cawthray, Mark Robinson and Stuart Godfrey, with two conversions from Gareth Whitehead, only allowing a Townville try through a minute before the break. Townville crossed for a second to cut the gap to eight points at the start of the second half, but Stanley struck twice more with tries from Robinson and Woolford, with a conversion from Whitehead to seal the result. Townville tries came from Mike Parkinson and Mark Spink, with conversions from Steve Kirk. Simon Carr and Mark Robinson pushed Chris Woolford for the Man of the Match. |
