Open Age Match Reports, 2006-7 Ovenden 42 v Stanley Rangers 18 After building up a 12-4 lead, Stanley Rangers were unable to sustain the pressure against NCL Division One side Ovenden, losing out 42-18 in the second round of the BARLA National Cup. Ovenden were rocking slightly when Stanley took an early lead, thanks to centres Carl Clawson and Jackie Hogan responding to second row Chris Geoghan's early try, with stand off Danny Grice adding each goal to put Stanley ahead. But the hosts bounced back to lead 22-12 at the interval, with tries from Chris Hartley, Tom McAdam and winger Matthew Short. One minute after the restart, Short extended the lead with his second try and further tries from Geoghan, Lister and Turner, Hartley completing a five-goal haul. In reply, Stanley's Jackie Hogan scored a try, with Grice again goaling. |
