      Stanley Rangers U10s v East Leeds U10s
      20.09.08

What a performance - the crowd cheered! The Stanley Boys missing yet again some key players produced a wonderful performance to beat a huge and talented East Leeds side.

The game started with the best defensive effort from our boys all season, with every player to a man putting in the effort. The front row including Tommy Gant, Harry Davey, and Big Reece Matysiak laid a fantastic platform for the outside backs and our dynamic back row to shine! Reece and Tommy looked the part, and if these two top props can produce this level of consistency we are in for a very good year next season.

Harry Davey at hooker was simply fantastic, producing great balls from the floor, and displaying a vision and awareness well above his years. Harry finished the game with two fantastic scoots from dummy half both ending in 4 pointers for us, and sealing the game. Well done H.

Tom Sowerby at full back was also fantastic, he took every high ball, and kick and returned with a vengeance. Tom looked dangerous as ever with every carry. Tom may be looking at this position next year, and who can challenge him.

The back row consisting of Sean Smith and Jordan O'Niell looked like the form players showing how to drive, and defend. These two hit everything that moved, and came in for some superb runs, with Jordan bagging 16 tackles to take the Top Tackler again.

Sean contributed in every aspect of the game, and was awarded with a well deserved and well won Parents' Man of the Match.

Coaches' Merit was given this week to Joe Crabtree who produced three very good tackles on his own in succession. Well done Joe on your coaches' merit.

Jacob Barnes was also great, and on our line produced a one on one tackle to bring down the biggest front rower in their side, and was awarded a more than deserved Magic Moment.

Matty Hobson was asked to play at first receiver and took on the role with ease. mathew passed, ran and defended with 100% commitment and as a result was given the Opposition Man of the Match, after a great all-round performance.

The last game of the season is next week, when we entertain Drighlington away, and we are all looking forward to a great game, and the end of the season.
