WOW ! what a game today against the form team in the Yorkshire junior league, Featherstone Lions. Stanley came back from 14 points to nil down to record an emphatic victory. This is the game we have all been waiting for - we showed every character trait required in a side, speed, toughness, vision, determination, and above all else, teamwork.

The team was outstanding in both defence and attack, with  Man of the Match (opposition) Thomas Sowerby scoring 4 magnificently worked tries. Man of the Match (Parents) Jordan O'Neill again led in defence, topping the tackle count, and winning the award, whilst  also displaying his ability with ball in hand. Corry Eaton played his last game for us for 6 weeks and scored 2 lovely tries, one being a game turning interception to go 60 yards to score. Matty Hobson in the second half picked up his game, and found his pace, with some wonderful skill and vision to bag a brace.

Big Reece from Featherstone took our vote for Opposition man of the match, and well done to him too !

The magic moment could have gone to a few players, but at 14 nil down and on the ropes, Sean Smith pulled of a certain try-saving tackle in the corner, which may have killed our spirit, but it kept us in the game, and from the resulting set, we intercepted and scored.

The Stanley train steams into Stanningley next week for a mouth watering encounter, and all the boys are well up for this one.
