Stanley Rangers U10s v Fryston U10s
Stanley Rangers completed the double this weekend over Fryston Warriors, who came into the game on a bit of form, and much improved on the last performance against them.
Stanley only conceded one try, and that just shows how determined we are in defence, and that takes a full team effort.
The parents, and Opposition man of the match this week went to the same player, that player being Thomas Sowerby, but he must have been pushed close by Sean Smith, Matthew Hobson, Big Tommy Gant, and Nick Fowler. Thomas bagged 4 try's, and also created 2 again this week, so well done Tom.
The magic moment was an absolute beauty, it was a tackle that I will never forget. Nick Fowler made the hardest, and most perfect execution of a tackle I have ever seen at this age group, and a more deserved award has never been.
Mathew Hobson again showed his class, he is a wonderful defender, fantastic attacker, and to use an old phrase, he is as fit has a butchers dog. Mathew won the top tackler for the second week running, and was great again.
The whole team played well, Tom Robbins performed very well outside, and showed great awareness and vision to read the game, and scored a wonderful try. Sean Smith again was instrumental in his distribution of the ball, and defended very well.
The pack are now playing together as a unit. Tommy gant, Mathew Sowerby, and Joe Crabtree all making good yards forward. Niall is starting to look like the player of last season, and back up in the pack from Ryan Ellison and Harry Smith gives us cover all over the park.
Stanley play Headingley next week, and without some key person ell, so we will be tested to the limit, but win, loose or draw, the boys will give 110%
