     Stanley Rangers U10s v Headingley U10s

Stanley Rangers under 10's produced a mammoth effort to record another victory, and considering we came into this game with Tommy Gant, Tom Robbins, Ryan Ellison, Corry Eaton, Jordan O'niel, and the early loss of Nial Fitzsimons the eventual outcome was in reality our best so far. The full strength Headingley side came out fighting with some wonderful displays of power and speed, and proved that they are a force to be reckoned with.

The pack even though it was well under strength was led forward by Nial Fitzsimons who up to his shocking knee injury was outstanding, along with Mathew Sowerby, Joe Crabtree, and eventual magic moment winner Lewis Crowley. The boys stood upto the task at hand, and came out with a super team effort.

Lewis was awarded the magic moment for a scintillating run down the field, that epitomised his all round performance on the day, well done LEWIS.

The parents man of the match was awarded to a player who is in a rich vein of form, in both attack and defence, that player being our outstanding centre Nick Fowler. Nick was again immense in both departments, and scored 1, but created 1 too.

The top tackler this week was awarded to Mathew Hobson, who week in week out plays to an unbelievable high standard, and this game was no different. Mathew led the way in defence, and proved that he is one of the most important cogs in the Stanley wheel.

The opposition man of the match was awarded to the dynamic and mercurial Thomas Sowerby, who again scored an ha trick, and was the difference in winning and losing. Thomas showed how he can score from the most unlikely of situations, and worked hard in defence too.

Sean Smith the unsung hero of this team again distributed the ball with a maturity that makes a mockery  his years. I am so pleased with how we are developing, and with our big guns out, we can still produce match winning performances to be proud of.
