Marching on together was the song of choice today after Stanley blasted Parkside off the park away from home.
The game was played in beautiful weather, and it resulted in some fine fast flowing rugby league, just the type of weather that suits our open fast style.
The opening score come from our own South African block busting outside back Ryan Bolger. Ryan tagged onto a short pass from Tom Sowerby to beat 4 defenders from 40 yards out to score. Ryan scored another in the second half, and ran strongly and defended hard all game. Ryan was voted the Parents "Man of the Match" and it was a well deserved award.
The Top Tackler this week could have gone to any one of three players, with Tom Sowerby, Jordan O'Neill, and Matty H all blasting past double figures, but the award was handed to Jordan.
The Coaches merit award was handed to Jacob Barnes this week, and he performed great in the second half after we asked him to play in the hooking position. Well done jacob !
Thomas Sowerby was on fire today again, he scored three fantastic tries, topped the tackle count, and created 2 other scores as well. Thomas was outstanding in defence, and as a result was justifiably awarded the Opposition Man of the Match.
Nick Fowler again was in tip top form, and playing at centre, or hooker always looked dangerous in attack. His hard running style and good hands contributed to his 2 superbly taken 4 pointers, well done Nick.
