      Stanley Rangers U10s v Lock Lane U10s
      23.05.09

This was a great game played by two sides who could not be any more different in their styles of play. The final score line in favour of Stanley was the right score in my opinion, and a fully justified win. The Stanley boys looked tiny in comparison to the enormous and physical lock lane outfit, but more than made up for it with some wonderful displays of flowing and attacking rugby.

The backs this week have to take full credit for this victory, and showed that quick passing and unselfish distribution will always come out on top if you have the confidence to try it.

Lock Lane came at us with one out rugby, using their massive front rowers to batter our line, and in most occasions their size broke us down. However our fast and flowing skilful type of rugby outplayed them, and out maneuvered them, and hopefully in the long term, we will be the team to beat if we can match up to the size of other teams.

Mathew Hobson again was on top form, with his running and distribution proving a difficult player to defend against. Matty linked up well with Thomas Sowerby who produced his best passing game to date, creating several tries out wide for the massive running wingman Ryan Bolger, who after blasting down his wing bagged a well deserved Opposition Man of the Match award. Harry Davey our star utility back finished off our try scoring with a sensationl individual effort, and beat almost 5 defenders to score out wide, well done Harry.

Harry Davey who played at hooker and Sean Smith both topped the tackle count, and as such shared the award for this week's Top Tackler.

The boys are looking good at the moment, but we need to remember that we are in this for the fun and enjoyment and we should be careful not to let our agenda effect the kids' enjoyment.

I am more than looking forward to this weeks game away at Hunslet Parkside, a team we have never before played against, so it should be an interesting match between two teams who know nothing about each other.
