The winning run continues with a very hard fought victory over a big, powerful and spirited Stanningley side. The game was played in the most wonderful spirit, and it was also well officiated too.

The Stanley side started with a quick short side move, and the Opposition Man of the Match for Stanley - Thomas Sowerby - scored one of his two tries. Thomas stood in for Corry Eaton today and created 4 tries, and proved that he is not just a try scorer, but a creator too !

Matthew Hobson scored three tries today, and even though he was not at his best in the first half, he more than made up for it in the second half. Matthew played at stand off, and ran very well, defending the middle of the field with a fired up attitude that won him the Top Tackler award.

 

Sean Smith was on his jollies, and that left Jordan O'Niel to stand up and take the reins of hooker, and he did a very fine job too, looking the part, and his efforts were noticed by the opposition coaches who all commented on his ability.

 

Tommy Gant, Mathew Sowerby, Nial Fitzsimons and magic moment winner Joe Crabtree all ran hard and straight, joe being very impressive throughout the game.  Joe is improving all the time, and is becoming a real star.

 

The team are doing very well at the moment and it can only get better with this lot. Well done to all the players.

 

The boys next week entertain Fryston, and we are all up for that one too !
