Stanley Rangers U10s v Wetherby U10s
29.11.08
Stanley under 10's again started very slowly after the opposition got lost, and our boy;s felt the cold. The game, and the players soon warmed up after 10 minutes, and with the welcome return of our halfback Correy Eaton we looked like a team with shape, and structure both of which have been abscent over the last 2 weeks. The boys stuck to the game plan, and through the course of the game scored 10 try's.
The platform was laid for the halfbacks Correy Eaton, and Thomas Sowerby by some solid work upfront by Tommy Gant and Mathew Sowerby who produced his best go foward of the season.
Sean Smith again was Mr consistancy, and with his slick passing from Dummy half, and tanacsious defensive effort won him a very well deserved parents man of the match award, combined with his second top tackler award of the campaign.
Opposition man of the match was awarded to Nick Fowler, who again showed his best form out wide in the centre, and whilst pushing through latched onto the great delivery of Correy Eaton to score 2 try's.
The magic moment was awarded to Jacob Barnes, he took an high ball, under pressure from 3 Wetherby attackers, and on his own line, and not only took it, but beat three defenders and made 10 metres too.
trhe scorerers today included Thomas Sowerby with two good efforts, one a fantastic 60 yarder, Matty Hobson with a belter out wide, Tom Robbins on the wing with two touch downs, which just goes to show how we move the ball out wide. Sean Smith, and Nick Fowler fionishing the scoring.
The boys are in Shaw Cross next week for the return fixture, and we are all looking foward to the game.
