Castleford Panthers U10s v Stanley Rangers U10s
31.10.09
An under strength Stanley travelled to form side Castleford Panthers for what was always going to be a tough game.
Stanley worked hard in the first half and limited the Panthers to just one score right before half time, but with several key players unavailable and no replacements, fatigue was always going to play a part in the second half and this proved to be the case as three second half tries by the Panthers sealed the victory for the home side.
Stanley did manage to get on the scoreboard when prop forward Owen Trout jinked and forced his way over from fifteen yards out. In what was a game strewn with mistakes both sides struggled to get into any sort of attacking rhythm and several chances went begging for both teams. Stanley can take a great deal of encouragement from their first half display, in which they showed great determination.
Ben Green scooped the Man of the Match award, whilst away team Man of the Match Stephen Gibbs also collected the Man of Steel award. Top Tackler went to Cameron Lees and once again the Outstanding Effort was won by Lewis Pearson for a superb one-on-one try-saving tackle on his own line.
Tries: Owen Trout.
